SCHOOL MUSICAL ' IMAGINARIUM'
Congratulations to Drew Lane and our brilliant cast on a wonderful musical. The debut of Imaginarium on the 30th October was a joyful celebration of a lot of hard work. All the children were amazing and the feedback from all present was how wonderful the performance was. Everyone should be extremely proud!
STAFF UPDATE
Karin Gibbins - We are very happy to advise that Karin has accepted a position at St Peter’s. Karin will teach Art on Fridays. Karin has worked as Casual Relief Teacher at St Peter’s across the school including three weeks this term teaching Creative Arts.
Centre Rd/Bignell Rd Works: A reminder that starting from today access to Bignell Rd between Centre Rd and Lois Court will be closed from 9:30am to 2:45pm on weekdays through to 2025. Due to these works it is incredibly important that families keep adhering to not arriving before 3:00pm and parking in front of our front gate or lining up on Centre Rd. With the added roadworks any cars that are blocking traffic flow on Centre Rd will cause major safety issues for our school and the public.
Administrative Officer - Trish’s position has been advertised. Applications close on Monday, 18th November.
REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY - I would like to congratulate our Year 6 SRC Representatives who participated in the Bentleigh RSL Remembrance Day ceremony earlier today by laying a wreath on behalf of our St. Peter’s community.
The students were very respectful and represented St. Peter’s brilliantly. Well done to Xander Engelbrecht, Thomas Murphy, Isabelle Suttie, James Norsworthy, Jack Logan and Dylan Johnson.

The class teachers have a list with your children's house colour, so please ask them if you are unsure of the house colour your child is in. They should have sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and a water bottle. Students will have their snack and lunch at school as normal with slightly adjusted recess times.
Parents are welcome to attend what promises to be an enjoyable day although we would ask for safety reasons that you stay outside of the fence when following groups around.
Thanks,

Sports Teacher
On the 8th of November St Peter’s had a special day where we dressed up as crazy as possible. Like mismatched socks, inside out clothes and so much more! It was so much fun seeing everyone dressing up in different and unique costumes and accessories. Not only did we see all these costumes around the school, we had a parade after lunch and it was so much FUN!
The teachers also contributed and dressed up in CRAZY outfits as well. We are so glad that we had this day and it could not have been done without all of the teachers and staff that helped. Also huge thanks to the SRCs who came up with the idea for this day.

Loving God,
You call each of us to be people of peace.
Today, we remember those who gave their lives during times of war and conflict.
Help us to always honour their sacrifice and keep them in our hearts.
Holy Spirit, fill us with your love and strength so we can bring peace to our world. Teach us to make the world a better place
by living in kindness, harmony, and friendship with one another.
Help us to treat others the way we want to be treated and to walk in love every day.
We ask this through Jesus, Your Son.
Amen.
Boys Team
Hi my name is Ethan, I am the captain of the Boys 2024 AFL 9s Team. On Thursday 7th of November we played a Gala Day at Centenary Park.
AFL 9s is a footy match but the ground is smaller and there are some different rules. Most of the rules are the same as AFL. AFL 9s is a no contact game so you can’t tackle to the ground.
In the AFL 9s the schools we played against were Coatesville, Oakleigh Grammar, Oakleigh South, St Paul’s and Murrumbeena. Some of the teams that we played against were a challenge but we were too good for them all and we ended up winning the AFL 9s 2024 Boys Pennant.
Thank you Mr. Cav, Mrs. Crough and Miss Power for the awesome day.
Girls Team
Hi my name is Isabelle and I am the captain of the AFL 9s Girls Team. On the 7th of November we played a tournament at Centenary Park, it was a Gala Day so we played footy all day.
The girls first went up against Coatesville and we won and that was just the start of our winning streak. Then we played Oakleigh Grammar and Murrumbeena and we smashed both teams.
Next we went up against St. Paul's and we were a bit nervous but we won in the end. Later we played Oakleigh South. They were winning in the start but in the end we smashed them too.
All the other teams were good but we were BETTER, defeating most of the teams by 40 points or more. St. Peter's were undefeated. We got first place and we had an awesome day!!
Lots of great things have been happening at St Peter's in Sustainability this term!
Firstly, the Year Three and Four students participated in the National Water Week Poster competition with many wonderful entries reminding us of how important water is in our lives.
We were delighted to find out that Connor Moses from 3EM received second place. Connor's prize, a Dymmocks voucher, was presented at assembly last week. Check our Connor's winning picture below.
The other exciting news, we are thrilled to announce that we have received a 2024 Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant for our project, Earth Warriors,
Our school is one of 1,041 primary schools and early learning centres across Australia to receive a Woolworths Junior Landcare grant to help grow our next generation of environmental champions.
The students of 5AC have had great fun building our worm farms and helping our worms settle into their new homes. We have been learning how important it is to be careful about what we feed our worms. They don’t like the sandwiches we should be eating (rather than putting them in the compost), and they definitely don’t like citrus fruits. However, they love almost everything else! In return, they will produce 'worm wee', which we can dilute and use to nourish the vegetables we grow in our garden. Each year level will have their own worm farm to look after and the Year Five students will be going around to all of the classes to teach them how to look after the worms.
Click on the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant map to read more about our project and others*.

Glen Eira City Council - Road Safety Video
As we approach the end of the school year the roads, parking and school crossings surrounding your school are very busy.
Glen Eira Council has created a short, animated video which was shared with you all in February this year. This video was created to be passed on to your school parents and community. It is a fabulous two and half minute video that explains parking signs, how the school crossing operates and aims to promote safety surrounding your schools. It encourages students to walk or ride to school too, even if only from a few blocks away, to help ease traffic congestion, improve healthy activity and to help the environment. Please go to the link below to view the video.
