DEMOLITION UPDATE FOR CENTRE ROAD PROPERTIES
The first stage of demolition has begun today. This involves the removal of asbestos from the buildings. The removal will take place in line with WorkSafe guidelines and maintain a minimum 10-metre clearance zone. To ensure extra precautions, we have barricaded an additional 10 metres within our boundary to keep students away from the houses' vicinity, especially during breaks. We will liaise with the contractor daily to obtain more accurate time slots on any other works.
Additionally, any mobilisation of contaminated materials will be completed outside of high traffic times (School drop-off, Recess, Lunch, School Pick-up). Furthermore, to this the contract includes the placing of air monitoring devices around the properties monitoring air quality, and reports will be available each morning before school commences.
As always child safety will be a priority as we complete this essential stage before the houses are demolished.
THANKYOU
I would like to thank Chris Joplin for stepping into the Principal role and Steph Hunt for stepping into the Deputy Principal role during my Long Service Leave absence. I have had a great break and have been able to do that knowing that St Peter’s was in great hands. My thanks also to everyone else who also stepped into extra roles and responsibilities freeing Chris and Steph to complete all the responsibilities required in their new roles.

INCIDENT BRADY ROAD
On Saturday night there was an incident in Brady Road that resulted in the death of a man and the serious injury of a woman. A man has been arrested. There does not appear to be any direct connection to St Peter’s but we have families that live in Brady Road. If any of your children have been impacted by this incident please let your child’s teacher know to ensure that we are able to support them at school.
