Dear St. Peter's Parents and Guardians,
I hope you're all well.
I would like to thank you all as we come into this final week of term. We have had so many great moments here at St. Peter's over the last 10 weeks which are only possible with the support of a great community, so thank you. If you manage to get a break I hope you have a wonderful time over the school holiday period.
Exciting News
Our St. Peter's Community is about to grow! Foundation Teacher Monica Bramich and Year 3 Teacher Tricia Melanaphy are both expecting their second child. We look forward to meeting these bundles of joy in 2025.
Demolition of Houses
Many of you will have noticed that the 3 houses on the corner were demolished over the last 2 weeks. This has been very exciting for all of us. Updates will be coming next term as to what will be happening in the space next.
MACSSIS Survey Reminder
Last week 100 families were randomly chosen to complete the MACSSIS survey. This survey helps us with future planning in all areas of school life. If you were 1 of those families chosen to complete the survey, we would really love to hear your feedback. The survey is open until this Friday, 20th September.

Morning Maths is a program run by the Year Sixes and organised by Ms Epstein the Maths Coordinator and Mrs Gibson the Middle School Coordinator. It was an old program that started a few years ago and stopped during Covid. The teachers brought it back due to massive interest.
The Year Sixes arrive at 8:15am in the morning to set up and the Year Three students in the program arrive at 8:20am. Once the Year Six and their buddy are both there they can start learning. There are normally 2-3 activities including a game and some learning. The benefits include: a better understanding of maths, more maths skills, a chance to socialise and most of all, a fun time!
A big thank you to Ms Epstein and Mrs Gibson for organising Morning Maths, Mrs Crough for offering her classroom, the Year Sixes for tutoring and most of all the Year Threes who have been so eager to learn maths in the morning.

On the 5th of September a group of 58 students competed against 6 other schools at Duncan Mackinnon for the title of Bentleigh District Champions.
The day kicked off with a 5 minute bus trip before arriving and preparing for the upcoming events. Our athletes represented St. Peter's very well and our golden baton sprints team finished 2nd.
Overall our school finished second behind Oakleigh South. A very big thank you to Mr. Hanrahan, Mr. Hurst, Mrs Mackie, Maddi, Miss Power and Mr. Cav for making the day possible!

On Thursday the 5th of September the Athletics Team competed against 6 other schools at Duncan MacKinnon Athletics Centre.
The day started at 9:30am with the hurdles followed by a few field events which included discus, long jump and shot put. There were about 50 students there representing our school. Some of the other events that were on in the duration of the day included 1500m, 800m, 100m, 200m, high jump, long jump and triple jump.
The last events were the relays where St Peter's won one of them, but Oakleigh South won the rest. Then the final event was the golden baton relay which was the two fastest girls and the two fastest boys. For St Peter's the four students in the race were Jake, Scarlett B, Iggy and Mila.
Overall, after 5 hours we came second only losing to Oakleigh South which is an amazing finish! St Paul's also won a shield for best per capita and St Peter's won a shield for second place!
A big thank you to Mr Cavarra and the other teachers and LSOs that helped us with training and on the day.
