St. Patrick’s Day Prayer
May the Strength of God pilot us.
May the Power of God preserve us.
May the Wisdom of God instruct us.
May the Hand of God protect us.
May the Way of God direct us.
May the Shield of God defend us.
May the Host of God guard us
Against the snares of the evil ones,
Against temptations of the world.
May Christ be with us!
May Christ be before us!
May Christ be in us,
Christ be over all!
May your Salvation, Lord,
Always be ours,
This day, O Lord, and evermore. Amen.

EASTER EGG RAFFLE
It’s been a while between P&F events and while it’s still a bit difficult to plan ahead given restrictions can change from one day to the next, we have tried to introduce some new initiatives that will help maintain our fundraising efforts and remain in a position to be able to contribute to worthwhile projects that will ultimately benefit our children.
This year, the P&F is holding an Easter Raffle and would be very grateful if you would support this initiative by selling some raffle tickets.
An envelope with five raffle tickets enclosed has been sent home today to the Eldest child in the Family. Year Six students with no younger siblings will pick up their tickets when they return from camp.
Each raffle ticket is $2.
You may wish to purchase all tickets or get family, friends &/or neighbours involved and ask them for their support by purchasing a ticket or two! Additional envelopes can be requested from Trish in the office.
There is a prize for the family that sells the most tickets.
Please be sure to clearly print the contact name and number of the purchaser on the ticket stub and return with money to the office no later than Friday, 26th March.
Our Easter Raffle will be drawn on Wednesday, 31st March and thanks to all of your generous chocolate donations we have some awesome hampers up for grabs just in time for the Easter chocolate feast!

I am also grateful to the staff, Andrea Crough for her organization and Mick Schinck, Isabella Kottek and Gill Sullivan for their support and work. It was great to see parents and children working together to improve the way our school looked and improving safety for our students.

Every class took responsibility for an area of our school to clean up last week.
FACE MASKS
Face Masks are no longer required to be worn on site at St Peter’s while you are outdoors and can maintain 1.5 metres social distancing. I do ask that face masks are worn indoors when visiting for meditation.

Our Year Six students headed off to Canberra this morning. They will be undertaking an education tour of the national capital. They will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s History, Culture, Heritage and Democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $45 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

RECONCILIATION
Year 4 RECONCILIATION
The Year 4 students have recently been preparing to make their first Sacrament of Reconciliation.
On Monday, 1st March Father Elio Capra hosted a Family Workshop for the parents while the students reflected on the important signs and symbols of the church and discussed what it means to make their Reconciliation and to be reconciled.
Father Elio spoke about the importance of forgiveness being a part of everyday family life and how reconciliation is important for the harmony of families. Reconciliation with God should be the same as reconciling in families. If families see reconciliation at home they see it as an important part of their daily lives.
On Tuesday, 2nd March, the students enjoyed a Reconciliation Reflection Day. This involved rotational activities walking them through the importance and meaning of the sacrament ensuring they gained a deeper understanding.
They explored how our ability to reconcile sins is a gift God has given. When sins are forgiven, the sinner feels great relief. Forgiveness means we can start over with a clean slate.
The students participated in four activities. They created Mosaic Prayer Crosses (which will be displayed in the school office), watched a video on Zaccheus and participated in an activity based on forgiveness, wrote a prayer of penance they will share during reconciliation, and listened to Loretta, one of the Pastoral Associates, talk them through the actual process of the sacrament. These activities were followed by the always popular sausage sizzle!
The students have begun making their Reconciliation during Masses over the weekends, and this will continue for the next few weeks. Please keep all these students in your prayers.
A special thank you to the Year 3 (2020) and Year 4 Teachers for preparing the students so well. Also thank you to the parents who came and helped with the sausage sizzle.
Prayer for Reconciliation Preparation
Loving God,
As we prepare to make our reconciliation, please watch over us as we confess our sins.
We know Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us, so that our sins may be forgiven.
Help us to confess our thoughts . Help us to confess our words. Help us to confess our actions.
Help us to try harder next time. Help us to treat others as we want to be treated. Help us to be the kind of people Jesus wants us to be.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen
